Coaching vs. Therapy
Coaching differs from therapy in both purpose and approach. Therapy is best suited for those experiencing significant emotional distress, unresolved trauma, or mental health conditions requiring clinical treatment. Coaching, on the other hand, is ideal for individuals who feel mentally well but want guidance to clarify goals, build healthier habits, and enhance performance or fulfillment in their lives. While sessions may briefly acknowledge past experiences to validate emotions, coaching remains solution-focused and forward-looking, emphasizing resources, courage, and possibilities you may not yet see or feel ready to use. Both therapy and coaching can be valuable at different stages of life — therapy for healing, coaching for growth — and understanding these differences can help you choose the path that best supports where you are now.
